The Executive Director Growth and Place provides the strategic leadership to shape and deliver the vision and strategy for the Growth and Place directorate. It oversees the development of key strategies, including branding, place‑based planning, and economic development, while building strategic partnerships to drive innovation and attract investment. The Executive Director will lead a more integrated approach to growth and municipal planning across functions such as planning, design, activation, and place management, navigating a complex regulatory environment to ensure alignment with community aspirations.

To be considered for this position, you will have exceptional people leadership skills managing a significant team to deliver integrated planning strategies which will incorporate your knowledge of brand and place-based marketing. Engaging with a broad range of stakeholders you will be able to demonstrate high level engagement and communication capabilities to manage diverse views and build consensus. Strong business and commercial acumen combined with political astuteness are also essential to support and deliver on the strategy. This experience will be complemented by an understanding of local government and/or community services. A tertiary qualification in Business Management, Placemaking, Strategic Planning, Urban Planning or a related field is required.
