About the role
In this role, you will support the management and oversight of the City’s contracts by monitoring performance, compliance, and governance requirements. Working with contract owners and stakeholders across the organisation, you will provide guidance on procurement planning and contract management while promoting best practice and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:
- Monitor a portfolio of contracts, ensuring effective oversight, compliance, and performance.
- Provide expert procurement planning and contract management advice to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the City’s strategic objectives, procurement policies, and relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks.
- Forecast and coordinate procurement needs across departments to support proactive planning and continuity.
- Monitor compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory obligations, proactively identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies to ensure responsible procurement and contract governance.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need demonstrated experience in a similar position and a working knowledge or general understanding of sourcing and contract management systems, such as Oracle and ServiceNow.
Essential Experience:
- Strong knowledge of procurement and contract management legislation, policies, and practices, including public sector frameworks, probity, and governance requirements.
- Proven experience in procurement strategy development and supporting contract managers to achieve value-for-money outcomes.
- Proven ability to enhance specification design by providing input and implementing quality assurance processes to ensure specifications are effective and fit for purpose.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills, with the ability to evaluate complex procurement and contract management issues and provide well-informed recommendations.
