Classification: Band 8, $122,040 pa plus super
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage complex, high-value procurement and strategic sourcing activities, ensuring alignment with the Business Plan, legislative and policy frameworks, and the City’s strategic priorities.
- Conduct advanced research and analysis to support procurement and sourcing decisions, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to executives and cross-functional teams.
- Champion innovation and drive the adoption of best-practice procurement methodologies, contributing to improved service delivery and enhanced customer and community outcomes.
- Build, strengthen, and maintain high-level strategic networks and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support the City’s long-term objectives.
- Manage effective procurement business-partnering relationships across the organisation, offering authoritative advice and strategic guidance to leaders at all levels.
- Provide specialist expertise on Rfx processes, documentation, training, and organisational support, developing strategies, preparing high-quality documentation, conducting and evaluating tenders, negotiating with suppliers, and preparing contract award recommendations.
- Support the ongoing review and improvement of Rfx templates, procurement policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with leading practice and organisational procurement goals.
- Mentor and guide team members in building professional competence and collective knowledge.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have Tertiary qualification in procurement, business or finance and/or extensive professional experience in a senior procurement business partner role in a comparable organisation.
Essential Experience:
- Extensive experience in delivering complex and high-value procurement and sourcing activities, including developing sourcing strategies, preparing tender documentation, leading and evaluating tender processes, negotiating with suppliers, and preparing comprehensive contract award recommendations.
- Demonstrated capability in managing internal stakeholders with strong communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technical proficiency with the ability to interpret, develop, and refine technical documents and contracts to a high standard.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain strong stakeholder relationships, supported by well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and secure support for key initiatives and outcomes.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and stakeholder management expertise, with a proven record of fostering collaboration and effective partnerships.
- Senior-level experience in procurement and strategic sourcing, underpinned by strong analytical capability and commercial insight.
- Demonstrated ability to support, lead, and champion organisational change.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a Working with Children’s Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
