About the role
In this role, you will undertake engineering investigations and design, various administrative functions as well as positive participation as a team member. Produce civil engineering designs and specifications that comply with current standards and good practice, are accurate and are innovative in concept, however cost effective in their design production and construction.
Work type: Temporary Full-time (until end October 2026)
Classification: Band 6 Commencing at $95,760 pa plus super pro rata
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of design plans to be used for construction for road related infrastructure
- Investigation of various infrastructure, drainage and traffic related issues.
- Preparation of reports and correspondence, liaison with stakeholders, funding agencies and statutory authorities.
- Participation in the development of staff into an efficient, effective and customer focused team.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have a Tertiary Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering or Construction Management and/or relevant experience. Drafting skills including use of engineering software Civil3D and Civil Site Design or similar.
Essential Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in road and drainage design using current principles and standards.
- Drafting skills including use of engineering software Civil 3D and Civil Site Design or similar.
- Demonstrated experience in Traffic Engineering Design and Engineering investigation work.
- Proficient computer skills utilising the Microsoft Suite of software specifically Word and Excel.
- Demonstrates ability to plan own time as well as assist others in time management on a regular basis to meet agreed deadlines of the unit.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
