About the role
In this role, you will support the management, planning, and replacement of Council’s plant and heavy fleet assets. You will assist with fleet strategies, monitor asset performance, and work with operational teams to ensure assets are fit for purpose, cost-effective, and aligned with service needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the lifecycle management of Council’s plant and heavy fleet assets, including planning, utilisation monitoring, and replacement coordination.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and delivery of the Ten-Year Plant Replacement Program.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date fleet asset records within Council’s fleet and asset management systems.
  • Analyse fleet asset performance, utilisation, and operational data to support evidence-based fleet planning and decision making.
  • Support fleet procurement activities, including specification development, delivery coordination, asset commissioning, and disposal processes.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, including supervisors, coordinators, and operational staff.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused Fleet Unit culture.
  • Support stakeholders by providing guidance on fleet asset management processes and systems.
  • Support the delivery of fleet asset management plans and programs in alignment with Council’s strategic and operational objectives.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience working in a fleet management, asset management, or fleet administration role.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience supporting fleet asset lifecycle activities, including asset planning, procurement, utilisation monitoring, and replacement.
  • Experience working with fleet management, asset management, or maintenance management systems.
  • Experience maintaining asset records and working with computer-based asset management systems.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Current Working with Children Check (employee)
  • Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
