Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Utilizes the approved curriculum. Develops clearly-stated course objectives and
learning outcomes. Ensures the objectives and content of the courses taught are
current.
• Keeps accurate classroom records.
• Supports department assessment initiatives.
• Uses and updates the required course management system.
• Meets deadlines and evaluates student work in a timely manner including submitting
Show/No Show reports, midterm grades, and final grades.
• Other duties as required or assigned.
Required Education: • Master’s degree in biology or master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in biology or related area with an emphasis on anatomical & physiological course work
• Applicants must meet credentialing guidelines for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Superior skills in communication, verbally and in writing, including the ability to relate to students, other faculty and staff members.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to work as a team with strong leadership skills and positive attitude.
• Ability to assist students with college-readiness skills.
• Proficiency in or ability to become proficient in a variety of software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, as well as Canvas or familiarity with another LMS platform.
• Ability to incorporate technology in the classroom.
• Knowledge of student engagement techniques, learning styles, retention strategies, and learning-centered philosophy.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Preferred Education: • Doctoral degree is preferred.
Preferred Experience: • Work experience in either post-secondary teaching is preferred.
• Work experience in distance learning and/or teaching hybrid with compressed video courses.
