Vice President for Economic and Workforce Development SLCC – Lafayette
The Vice President for Economic and Workforce Development (VPEWD) reports to the Chancellor and has the primary responsibility for providing strategic leadership, direction and management for all efforts related to non-credit education and training. The VPEWD serves as the Chief Workforce Officer for the college and ensures that all programs, courses, trainings, and services support the purpose and mission of the College. The incumbent is also responsible for providing administrative leadership in the development of workforce education that addresses the needs of local, regional, and state businesses and industries.
Manager of Adult Education SLCC – Lafayette
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department of Adult Education, ensuring operational effectiveness by providing leadership for the department’s operational functions as well as support for students in need. Leads staff including instructional staff, para-educators, peer tutors, and work study students in order to promote student success. Works with students in need to provide referral and wrap-around services as needed. Assists the Assistant Director in the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. Prepares appropriate documentation and reports for ongoing analysis and trains/supervises instructional staff.

Demonstrates and teaches subject matter in classroom and appropriate labs to students. Maintains accurate grade and attendance records. Maintains individual student progress data and ensures this is a part of the student’s permanent record. Adheres to all laws pertaining to disclosure of student records. Posts at office and on the syllabus, on-campus hours to facilitate interaction with students, other faculty, staff administrators and the public. Be available to students via email, phone and/or in person conference. May mentor other staff or students. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Receives training or stays current in technological or pedagogical advances that promote student learning.

Education Instructional Technologist SLCC – Lafayette
Develop or provide technical resources, such as course management and videoconferencing systems, networking, and webcasting, for distance learning programs. Communicate to faculty, students, or other users’ availability of, or changes to, distance learning courses or materials, programs, services, or applications. Collaborates with the Information Technology department to develop, implement, and maintain the College’s distance learning and online learning programs. The position maintains the Learning Management System (LMS) for distance education, NEMSA, Adult Education, and Corporate College and others as added; Assists in the training of users and troubleshooting problems with the LMS; Supports the implementation of special projects to the College’s accreditation process. Position reports to the Director of Distance Education.
Coordinator - Safety and Security SOWELA – Morgan Smith/ Jennings
This position reports to the Manager of Safety & Security. This position will provide a full range of Campus Safety and Security services with primary emphasis on enforcing campus laws, protecting the college personnel, protecting state property, investigating campus crimes and accidents, providing emergency assistance, securing campus facilities, conducting active foot and mobile patrols, enforcing parking and traffic regulations, working with local law enforcement in liaison with the Lead and/or the Chief Safety and Security Officers; and the Executive Director of Facilities Planning & Management on all emergency issues. This position will provide instruction and oversight for the Pipeline Technician training courses taught as part of the TC Energy Pipeline Academy. The instructor will be responsible for presenting and explaining learning materials and educating students on new subjects. The instructor will communicate their subject matter by using lectures, printed, visual, audio and/or video materials. The incumbent must create a curriculum, form daily lesson plans, and prepare all lesson materials. This position reports to the Director of Enrollment Management and is responsible for promoting South Louisiana Community College programs to prospective students and other interested individuals and groups. Additionally, the position is responsible for guiding and tracking applicants through the onboarding process. The Coordinator for Recruitment must have excellent customer service, presentation and communication skills. The Recruiter must be effective at conveying information to applicants, students, and the College Community. Required to participate in college-wide and campus recruitment activities and programs as an official representative of South Louisiana Community College, assisting with the collection of data, preparing reports, and the coordination of an assigned recruitment and outreach program. Evening and weekend hours are required as assignments and demands dictate.
