| The Simulation/Skills Lab Coordinator Nursing Faculty is responsible for teaching professional nursing courses at the postsecondary level (but at less than the baccalaureate). Accountable for planning, developing, maintaining, and effectively implementing the day-to-day operations of the nursing and allied health simulation and skills laboratories to provide students with quality instruction and a safe learning environment. Facilitate student advancement from performance of basic nursing skills to resolution of simple to complex patient care situation via low, moderate, and high-fidelity simulation. Direct, manage, and evaluate student learning in the simulation and skills laboratory. Responsible for preparing and delivering skills lab and high-fidelity simulations, leading and moderating lab/debriefing discussions, facilitating activities and communication, and administering and grading lab and simulation assignments. Demonstrate and teach patient care techniques in the skills labs, simulation laboratories, and clinical sites (on occasion) to nursing students. Position is an expert in nursing practices with knowledge of professional scope and standards of practice. Able to rely on evidence-based practice guidelines to plan and accomplish teaching goals. May lead and direct the work of others. Works with all Nursing and Allied Health programs. A degree of creativity and latitude is expected. |
