Duties and Responsibilities:
Work Habits – 30%
• Manage the RSO annual recognition and new club creation processes, including but not limited to:
• Advise students regarding RSO management, navigating campus resources and understanding relevant campus policies, processes and procedures.
• Updating and maintaining all relevant documents, resources, training, presentations, website and other relevant virtual/digital spaces to engage RSO officers and their advisors.
• Provide oversight in the planning and implementation of awards and recognition.
• Review, revise, create and update relevant documents, policies, and procedural documents as needed.
• Support and advise RSOs on their activities and events, including activity planning, budgeting and risk management.
• Collaborate with the Director for Student Engagement to establish and align standardized events and activity planning tools, resources, processes for RSOs.
• Lead the coordination, setup and staffing of programs and special events, including day-ofevent support.
• Lead full cycle assessment, evaluation and strategic planning efforts of the RSO program (e.g. learning outcomes, program objectives, impact and inquiry).

• Develop and Implement Engagement Strategies:
• Create and execute strategies to enhance student involvement and participation
• Design programs and initiatives that align with the institution’s goals.
• Manage Engagement Data and Reports:
• Maintain records of engagement activities, participation rates, and other relevant data.
• Prepare reports and presentations on student engagement trends and outcomes for stakeholders.
• Develop, plan, execute, and evaluate training programs and continuous learning plans for student staff and RSO officers including:
• Conduct ongoing training and education of RSO officers, including development of resource material, design and implementation of asynchronous learning modules and creation of relevant workshops that support RSO success.
• Establish and maintain an appropriate advising model for faculty and staff involvement with student organizations, including ongoing training and support for student organization advisors.
• Manage Student Engagement Initiatives:
• Plan, coordinate, and promote student events, workshops, and activities.
• Assist with the planning and execution of all OSE signature events.
• Lead small-scale campus-specific events and programs on the New Iberia, St. Martinville, Franklin, and Morgan City campuses.
Team Relations – 20%
• Supervise and mentor student staff who support program operations and provide guidance on dayto-day responsibilities, including, but not limited to annual recognition, new club creation, activity
plans, space reservations, etc.
• Cultivate and prioritize collaborations and reciprocal relationships with relevant stakeholders and partners in support of RSO processes.
• Establish and maintain an appropriate advising model for faculty and staff involvement with student organizations, including ongoing training and support for student organization advisors.
• Work with the college in the development, revision, interpretation, and application of college policies applicable to student organizations
Institutional Support – 20%
• Represent Student Services and Student Engagement in communications, presentations, and campus involvement.
• Collaborate with professional colleagues to share information for the purpose of enhancing content and delivery of department programs, services, and resources to students.
• Attend special events during normal hours, in the evenings, or on the weekends to assist with set up, event execution, and tear down.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Four (4) years of professionally comparable experience may be substituted for the required degree.
Required Experience:
One year of experience working in a higher education setting, preferably in roles related to student engagement, student services, or communications. OR
One year of experience in planning, organizing, and executing events and programs for diverse audiences.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Valid, unencumbered driver's license
Preferred Experience:
3 years experience working with diverse populations with a college, public agency, or similar.
3 years experience working with student groups, organizations, and event planning management.
