Duties and Responsibilities: 


Incident Response & Coordination:
Assist in the development, execution, and evaluation of incident response protocols.
Lead the coordination and documentation of responses to critical security incidents.
Collaborate with all student-centric departments, ensuring those departments are informed of student related incidents and used as a resource when appropriate.
Collaborate with local and state public safety agencies on developing and implementing effective response procedures.
Participate in after-action reviews and recommend process improvements.

Security Operations Support:
Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day security activities across all campuses.
Supervise and support campus security supervisors or personnel as directed.
Administer the College’s parking program and manage event parking passes on the Lafayette campus.
Conduct regular security procedure audits at all locations, identifying lapses, and providing appropriate information and training.
Provide recommendations to leadership, regarding critical safety issues, including closures or lockdowns for security purposes, immediate removal of persons or property, or similar critical precautions/responses.
Supervise, onboard, complete payroll, and train all third-party security service personnel at all SoLAcc locations.

Access Control & Technology Management:
Manage access control systems, badging, key distribution, and video surveillance infrastructure.
Collaborate with IT to ensure integration, maintenance, and security of technical systems.
Troubleshoot issues and support rollout of new technologies.

Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate incident records, activity logs, and operational reports.
Generate routine and ad hoc reports for internal stakeholders.
Execute annual Clery Reports, the College’s Annual Security Report, the quarterly crime statistic reports, and other operational reports utilizing statistics, trends, recommendations, and assessments.

Training & Communication:
Conduct training sessions on emergency procedures and access control systems.
Act as a liaison with campus leadership and external emergency services when needed.
Support safety awareness initiatives and preparedness drills.

General Activities:
Maintain a clean and safe workplace. Follows safety procedures and uses proper lifting techniques to ensure personal health and safety.
Predictable and reliable attendance is required to provide consistency and continuity of business services.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Education: 

Associate's degree required, preferably in Criminal Justice or a related field.

 

Required Experience: 

Three years of supervisory experience in security, safety, law enforcement, emergency response, or risk management-related field.

 

Required Licenses or Certifications: 

Valid, unencumbered driver's license

 

Preferred Education: 

Bachelor's degree

 

Preferred Experience: 

Five years of supervisory experience in security, safety, law enforcement, emergency response, or risk management in a higher education or multi-site setting and/or CPP, PSP, certification or ICS/NIMS training.
