Duties and Responsibilities:

OPERATIONS

Provide outstanding service to students and other internal and external customers.
Serves as the NEMSA intake coordinator and participates in the Student Services side of the EMT and Paramedic information sessions and admissions intake process.
- Provides information regarding admissions requirements, program specifics and other information about NEMSA programs.
- Provides information regarding financial aid options for students pursuing NEMSA programs.
- Provides academic advising to students enrolled in NEMSA programs to ensure retention and on-time completion.
- Corresponds frequently with NEMSA instructors, and regional coordinators to ensure that enrolled students and prospective students are receiving timely and accurate information regarding SLCC student services.
- Corresponds with Admissions, Advising, Counseling and Disabilities, Deans, Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Student Engagement, and Dean of Students to ensure that all NEMSA students are receiving timely and accurate information related to their individual needs.
- Develops procedures and processes, decision-making, and notification functions to maximize connectivity between NEMSA students and SLCC Student Services.
- Experience working with students in a higher education setting is required.
- Experience with collecting and organizing data and detailed reporting.
- Familiar with student information systems is preferred.
- Communicate appropriately any follow up needs with students.
- Collaborate with Admissions department, as well as the Office of the Registrar and Financial Aid to ensure that prospective students have a transparent and streamlined enrollment experience.
- Assist faculty and staff in preparation of special events, i.e. graduation and pinning ceremony.
- Works independently within a team environment on special and ongoing projects.

Student Services related duties:

- Manage admissions and onboarding operations for all NEMSA campuses.
- Interact with potential students, applicants, current students and faculty on matters pertaining to admissions, registration, student accounts, advising, student engagement, and disabilities services.
- Maintain all student services data records on NEMSA students.
- Advise students accurately, including evaluating transferability of courses, calculating grade point averages and preparation for graduation.
- Assist students with applying for graduation.
- Collaborate with Registrar’s Office for distribution of all NEMSA diplomas to students at all NEMSA sites.
- Collaborate with the Office of Student Accounts to assist students with payroll deduction processes and WIOA invoicing process.
- Assist students with scheduling National Registry through the SLCC Testing center.
- Assist NEMSA students with applications for accommodations with the Office of Disability Services. Ensure NEMSA students receive accommodations when needed.
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and organized.
- Attendance at all mandatory meetings.

Division related duties:

- Update and maintain advising data on NEMSA students.
- Collect graduation applications for registrar's office.
- Coordinate with NEMSA staff on national registry application process for prospective graduates.
- Collect data related to advising and other duties as needed.
- Assist with open house and other divisional activities.
- Collect program re-admit applications and prepare grid of re-admit students.

Required Education: 

• Associate degree (acceptable substitution for the associate's degree is four (4) years of directly related work experience).

Required Experience: 

• Minimum of 5 years professional experience
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to remain adaptable and flexible to different situations and changes, including learning new systems and processes
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals
• Ability to problem-solve effectively
• Ability to create accurate program budgets

Required Licenses or Certifications: 

Active, unencumbered driver's license

Preferred Education: 

• Bachelor’s degree
• Related certification (EMT, Safety, Training & Development, related Workforce Development certification)

Preferred Experience: 

• 5 years industry related experience
• 3 years Program or Project Management
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.)
• 2 years experience with CRM software (ex Salesforce)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to remain adaptable and flexible to different situations and changes, including learning new systems and processes
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals
