Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in college‐wide and campus recruitment activities and programs as an official representative of South Louisiana Community College.
Actively seek and communicate the needs and expectations of those hosting or coordinating requested recruitment events
Provide correct and appropriate information regarding admissions requirements, program specifics, and other information about the College.
Accurately enter all such needs and expectations in the central calendaring system
Correctly and appropriately schedule all aspects of the recruitment activity.
Ensure that all materials needed for the event are on hand and communicate any instances where insufficient materials are not on hand.
Attend and execute the event in an appropriate, timely, and professional manner.
Communicate appropriately any follow up needs with appropriate individuals.
Report and enter all pertinent event data in the central calendaring system.
Assist with the collection of data, and preparation of reports & communications.
At events, collect all contact information for those expressing an interest in attending SLCC .
Communicate any special needs, discrepancies or unusual presentations with the Director of Enrollment Management.
Insure that all contact information is appropriately entered into the contact management system for further processing.
Perform admissions processing tasks as required.
Take part in training sessions offered by the office of admissions and recruitment, and competently learn discreet tasks up to and including the admission of students.
Competently perform those tasks as directed and on an ad hoc basis.
As chokepoints in the admissions funnel appear, proactively assist in providing appropriate and correct admissions services and processing.
Act as a guide to all applicants throughout the onboarding process to reduce enrollment drop after registration.
Maintain appropriate contact with incoming students to ensure they are apprised of their progress toward admissions and financial readiness.
Monitor financial readiness and communicate remaining requirements to students.
Maintain communications with prospects to ensure the start of their program of interest aligns with their application term, assisting with changes as necessary.
Act as a resource to all members of the Admissions staff to assist with student complaints (and the resolution thereof) and questions, and to provide assistance with admissions when business demands require it.
Utilize the published standards of practice to assist students with complaint resolution.
Maintain up-to-date information on all programmatic changes to be able to answer questions accurately.
Maintain resources to easily distribute information to students.
Act to provide direct services to students and applicants at high schools, community centers, etc.
As assigned by the Director of Enrollment Management, coordinate staffing and scheduling with other SLCC personnel where assistance is needed.
Provide appropriate cooperative teamwork to the individuals in the environment where assistance is needed.
Attend the work environment as scheduled, and take cues from the supervisor of that environment.
Utilize appropriate professional judgement in cases of ambiguity, and seek the assistance or counsel of the Director of Enrollment Management when necessary.
Actively contribute to the accomplishment of the stated goals of SLCC college‐wide enrollment goals, departmental unit plans, and department standards of practice.
Work in concert with other team members to meet defined turn‐around time for all applications accepted for admission.

Provide telephone coverage as scheduled.
Accept and complete temporary workflow/task reassignments as directed by the Director of Enrollment Management.
Provide information and assistance to students, colleagues, and the public through phone, written (traditional and electronic) and in‐person in a courteous and professional manner.
Two (2) years work‐related experience with a proven record in admissions, recruiting, advising, outreach services, and/or marketing at the post‐secondary level.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Valid Driver’s License.
Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
