Duties and Responsibilities:

 • Assists the Vice Chancellor in planning, organizing, and directing the operation, staff, and budgeting needs of the division.
• Serves on the Executive Cabinet
• Develops and manages program annual budgets. ensuring the efficient use of institutional, state, federal, and local funds. Ensures funds are utilized in compliance with applicable audit requirements.
• Establishes and supports an evaluation system for all programs and services within the area of responsibility to ensure alignment with institutional and community goals.
• Provides vision and leadership toward a seamless enrollment process for non-traditional, workforce and special interest students.
• Provides input and guidance to decision makers including Chancellor and Executive Team.
• Establish clear standards, goals, and outcomes for the Divisions with corresponding assessment and improvement plans. Ensures alignment with state and federal standards.
• Provides expert leadership to the college community in developing innovative student programs and initiating state and national best practices.
• Leads long-term strategic divisional planning in access, learning, and success that aligns with the college’s strategic plan and mission.
• Oversees the solicitation and management of grants and/or other funding streams to further enhance the Adult Education and Workforce divisions. Provides leadership to ensure that grant-funded initiatives are executed effectively and align with institutional goals.
• Manages direct reports and provides mentorship and guidance to managerial staff to ensure effective program execution
• Represents LDCC on regional and state committees, providing input on strategic initiatives and aligning LDCC’s programs with statewide goals
• Oversees the integration of adult education programs with LDCC credit and non-credit programs, facilitating guided pathways to ensure adult learners’ transition smoothly into higher education and workforce opportunities.
• Provides leadership in cultivating and managing external partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and workforce entities. Establishes and manages agreements between LDCC and partner organizations to enhance education services.
• Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor.

Required Education: 

• An earned master’s degree from an accredited university.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory role, preferably at a community college.
• Demonstrated effective leadership in areas such as planning, program development, and management of state and federal grants--preferably at a community college.
• Demonstrated experience serving a diverse student population, which includes evidence-based practices for the promotion of student success (including improved retention, and IBC/skill attainment).
• Experience working with diverse employees.
• Experience collaborating with workforce development programs and an understanding of the intersection of workforce and academic programs and initiatives such as the non-credit to credit awards.
• Experience with adult learners and high school equivalency paths.
