Duties and Responsibilities: 

Controls the tagging and the recording of moveable equipment acquisitions as prescribed by state property control rules and regulations.

Reviews all purchase orders relating to the acquisition of equipment.

Manages and maintains moveable equipment data in A database . Including adding, editing, transferring and retiring moveable assets.

Oversees the disposal of surplus property through coordination with the office of Louisiana Property Assistance Agency; administers the disposal and/or transfer of items from one department to another on campus; guides the departments regarding lost or stolen property.

Controls the inventory of moveable property as prescribed by state property rules and regulations.

Directs departments on maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations regarding property. Serves as the university's expert on all issues relating to control of moveable property.

Manages the University's central office supplies store through the procurement and distribution of consumable commodities and furniture for academic, administrative and service units; the approval on weekly basis of interdepartmental bills and invoices to those budget units from whom supplies and/or office furnishings have been provided; the development of internal operating policies and procedures to administer properly the office supplies function; implementation of control measures to administer the operating budget of the office supplies.

Supervises the attendance of subordinates; performs employee evaluations.

Works closely with operations for budgeting and acquisition compliance measures. Experience with financial budgeting.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or a minimum 8 years experience in facilities maintenance or property control.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Conduct regular property inspections. Coordinate physical move of property for the college. Experience with spreadsheets and budgeting skills. Effective communicator. Ability to compile data and prepare comprehensive management reports. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Must be able to prioritize deadlines. Excellent organizational skills. Able to work independently and collaboratively.

Required Licenses or Certifications: NA

Preferred Education: Advanced degree preferred.

Preferred Experience: Dynamic speaker who can communicate effectively with faculty and staff
Experience with data analysis and measuring outcomes
Reliable transportation for frequent travel between campuses
Strong customer focus and team orientation
Ability to appropriately handle confidential or sensitive College information
Commitment to continuing industry and individual functional education
Strong decision making skills
Ability to manage time, set priorities, and work independently; ability to organize, analyze, and interpret information
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs
