Duties and Responsibilities:

 • Serves as a key business and industry liaison for the college.
• Serve as LDCC point of contact for LCTCS Functional Workforce Group.
• Attend meetings and travel as needed.
• Assist in the development and implementation of short and long-term plans for assigned areas that support and contribute to the achievement of college strategic objectives, goals, and its mission and evaluate the effectiveness of such plans and activities.
• Develops and advances strategies for a self-sustaining, revenue-generating organization with related performance measures.
• Identifies public and private funding opportunities to support workforce, economic and community education programs.
• Serves as college contact for IWTP, provides quotes, and meets with clients.
• Serves as the point of contact for other training provides and facilitates collaboration with them.
• Collaborates with college community in developing non-credit to credit articulations in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures.
• Works collaboratively with college faculty and staff to facilitate the design, development, and implementation of workforce training initiatives.
• Directs the development and implementation of various programs and grants assuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Represents the college at various local and regional workforce organizations.
• Manages course/training schedule, equipment, and supervises instructional and support staff.
• Maintains records and student databases as appropriate for the position.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education: 

Master's degree from an accredited institution in a field related to the scope of the position OR a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of demonstrated leadership with related experience in education, government, business, or industry. Excellent public relations, organizational skills, communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to articulate and implement a vision for advancement of workforce training programs in a public higher education is essential. The successful candidate must be service -oriented, promote excellence, and embrace a deep commitment to professionalism. Applicants should have demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and mission of Louisiana Delta Community College. Applicant should also demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from a variety of backgrounds. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in workforce development programs, curriculum development, and the design, delivery and evaluation of customized training solutions for business and industry. Substantive leadership experience is required for this position.
