Duties and Responsibilities: 

Admissions Outreach:
• Communicates with and provides advice to prospective students regarding the college’s programs, tuition, and all admissions processes up to       the point of applying to the college.
• Provide guidance and assistance to prospective students concerning the admissions application and new student advising.
• Develop procedures to communicate with and provide ongoing information to prospective students.
• Provides guidance to students in scheduling appointments with College Recruiters to complete their admissions application.
• Communicates with all SoLAcc campuses regarding outreach to students who inquire about their programs.
• Responsible for providing up to date communication about SoLAcc’s programs, their start dates, and requirements so that it can be relayed to    all current, new and potential students.
• Provide excellent service and communication to all current, new and potential students who are seeking information about the college or            programs.
• Maintain tracking for potential student enrollment, admissions, applications and high school visitation schedules using the college’s CRM.
• Meet face-to-face with potential students as well as develop strategies for follow-up contact using phone calls, text messaging, and emails.
• Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to assist the Campus Director with recruitment efforts (including High School visits and    other related recruitment activities).

Academic Advising:
• Provides assistance to prospective student who need to register for their courses.
• Maintain up-to-date on course offerings across the college, and any updates to the registration process.
• Work with faculty and staff to assist with registration of current students for the following term.
• Work with the Associate Director of Advising and Retention to contact and develop plans for students who are eligible to return to the college       but are not registered for the following semester.
• Assist the Campus Director with the development and planning of all SSLs held at the campus.
• Ensure registration sessions are conducted face-to-face or virtually to prevent fraudulent course registration.

Engagement:
• Executes all campus-specific student life programming initiatives, which may include the co-advising, training and continued assistance in the       leadership development of student organizations and programming areas including student clubs, organizations, committees, student related       special events, and award programs.
• Coordinates campus programs and activities, including making arrangements for food delivery, facility use, security, and special equipment;         event set up and clean up; parking arrangements; technical requirements; staffing, and other services.
• Coordinates student travel for campus participants, including reservations, driving, chaperoning, and attending travel events, and facilitating       on-site workshops.
• Functions as a primary specific campus liaison with internal and external constituencies on all matters relating to specific campus programing.
• Administers various student engagement focused assessments.
• Manages extension campus student life areas and bulletin boards.
• Provides campus-specific clerical support, such as performing word processing, maintaining databases and files, tracking data and                      expenditures, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies and equipment, processing the mail, answering the phone, and compiling                    information for reports.

Other:
• Provides support to other student services staff by performing task-oriented duties such as administrative support when needed, special              projects, assistance with operational support, and any specialized function concerning admissions on an as needed basis.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with other South Louisiana Community College (SoLAcc) departments, faculty,                       staff students, visitors, and campus groups.
• Other duties as assigned.

General Expectations:
• Observe the college’s rules and regulations and uphold the standards of practice.
• Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction
• Represent the college and Admission Office professionally in all settings and events.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of software and computer technologies used to support students in person and virtually.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic and educational levels, and skill in using a variety    of interpersonal strategies to interact appropriately in situations from ranging from large meetings to individual appointments.
• Predictable and reliable attendance is required in order to provide consistency and continuity of business services.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: 

One year of experience in Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Admissions, Recruitment, Customer Service or as an Administrative Assistant/Coordinator. An associate degree or higher will substitute for the required experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
• Computer literacy and orientation toward creative uses of technology in the delivery of services for prospective students are required.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and representatives of other agencies or departments.
• Ability to organize and clearly express information in concise written form.
• Ability to read, comprehend and apply pertinent laws, rules and regulations.
• Ability to analyze and interpret report information and to take the appropriate corrective action.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to and the ability to handle major projects simultaneously are required.

Preferred Experience: 

Two Years of experience in Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Admissions, Recruitment, Customer Service, or as an Administrative Assistant/Coordinator and an associate degree. A bachelor’s degree or higher will substitute for the preferred experience.
