Duties and Responsibilities: 

Harness the voice of the community college to create timely, persuasive releases, marketing collateral, social media postings, and other content while working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, departments, divisions, and campuses to ensure messages are effective and consistent with the community college’s brand, voice, style, and tone.
Write communications and marketing pieces, including but not limited to, correspondence, scripts, presentations, videos, collaterals, web content, postcards, success stories, news articles, direct marketing emails, advertising, social media, brochure content, remarks, newsletters, and other supporting material.
Regularly seek opportunities to develop creative marketing content to enhance and support marketing strategies across the college.
Gather information by interviewing subject matter experts as well as through secondary research; have knowledge to position content to tell best story, communicate information, and market the community college and its offerings.
Collaborate with design colleagues to create and develop engaging print and electronic materials for all facets of the community college.
Work professionally with the public, the media, executive administration, and coworkers; have a demonstrated track record of creative, strategic thinking, quality writing, research, and fact-checking.
Have an interest in professional growth and the ability to establish strong, positive relationships with all members of the community college community.
Attend at all mandatory meetings.
Predictable and reliable attendance is required in order to provide consistency and continuity of educational services.
Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Education: 

Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field


Required Experience: 

Five (5) years’ writing experience, solid understanding of written English and grammar, and AP style. Strong attention to detail. Proven experience writing marketing content for a variety of mediums. Effective written and oral communications skills; ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on deadline; keen attention to detail and ability to edit and proofread; excellent collaboration, time management, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills a must. Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) or other design applications (Canva, Adobe Spark, Crello or similar). Basic knowledge of Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).


Preferred Experience: 

Proven experience developing creative copy for a variety of mediums in higher education setting. Work experience in an ad agency/consulting model is a bonus.


Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
