Job Summary:	Conduct research on the discovery of metabolic diversity for biodegradation of organic compounds. Other duties include ordering supplies and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure proper operation.

Position Qualifications:	BS/MS with 3 years experience or MS with thesis. Background and interest in microbiology, biochemistry molecular biology, or microbial ecology. Should be familiar with molecular techniques, instrumental analysis, and culturing microorganisms. Must have the ability to conduct and direct research tasks, prepare work plans, make technical presentations, and contribute to publications.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:	50%% - Conduct research - (Essential) 10%% - Equipment maintenance - (Essential) 10%% - Ordering supplies - (Essential) 30%% - Make technical presentations and contribute to publications. - (Essential)
Physical Demands:	Physical Requirements: Occasional and/or light lifting required. Limited exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely results would be cuts, bruises, etc. Impact of Deadlines: Work schedules, volume of work, or priorities seldom change. Able to anticipate new work. Minimum distractions or interruptions. Seldom involves conflicting demands on time.
