Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Maintain performance standards and pursue goals, objectives, and activities that promote the mission, vision and value statement of the College.

• Direct daily operations of the TRIO SSS program in accordance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.

• Develop, implement, and assess annual plans of operation, objectives, and services to meet grant goals.

• Lead identification and selection of SSS participants; oversee development and maintenance of Education Action Plans (EAPs).

• Coordinate provision of activities and services to meet participants' needs.

• Ensure compliance with 34 CFR 646 and maintain adherence to all grant requirements.

• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate all SSS personnel, including advisors, tutors, and part-time staff.

• Facilitate team meetings, professional development, and performance evaluations to promote high-quality service delivery.

• Administer and monitor the approved project budget to ensure proper use of federal funds.

• Maintain fiscal integrity through accurate records, reporting, and compliance with EDGAR and institutional procedures.

• Collect, analyze, and interpret program data for continuous improvement and federal compliance.

• Oversee participant eligibility, documentation, and recordkeeping in Blumen, Banner, and ConexED.

• Prepare and submit the Annual Performance Report (APR) and internal assessment reports.

• Coordinate advising, tutoring, workshops, and transfer initiatives that enhance student retention, graduation, and transfer outcomes.

• Collaborate with academic and student service departments, faculty mentors, and campus partners.

• Provide educational, financial, and career counseling to participants as needed.

• Represent SSS on institutional committees.

• Promote the SSS program through recruitment, marketing, and community engagement.

• Represent Fletcher SSS at institutional, state, and national TRIO events.

• Foster, demonstrate, and actively participate in a culture of mutual respect for students, guests, and co-workers from all backgrounds, perspectives and abilities. Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and supervisors and utilize appropriate channels of communication within the college community concerning procedures and/or inquiries.

• Attend and participate in scheduled activities, which include graduation, open house/recruiting events as assigned, convocation, and required meetings. Share ideas and information, and work toward common department and College goals.

• Serve on college committees as a member or as chair. Serve on search committees.

• Participate in professional development activities that enhance effectiveness (convocation, LCTCS conference, etc.).

• Represent the college in a manner that promotes a professional and positive image.

• Adhere to College and LCTCS policies.

• Embrace college culture.

• Complete all required assignments prior to deadlines (Fletcher/LCTCS trainings, etc.).

• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education: Master’s degree in counseling, education, social work, or related field.

 

Required Experience: At least two years’ supervisory and two years' designing or implementing TRIO SSS or similar projects.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Budget management; strong communication and collaboration skills.

 

Preferred Experience: Worked in a community college setting, TRIO programs, grant management, budgeting, report preparations (APR) for federal programs, data systems such as Blumen and/or ConexEd.
