This position must have strong leadership and communication skills as well as the relevant work experience to ensure that these operations are being properly performed. A successful candidate will also be able to cultivate relationships with the faculty and staff, establishing effective lines of communication with these individuals, and ensuring the Department of Facilities and Security Management is adequately meeting departmental objectives. Individuals must be able to respond to emergencies after normal working hours and as needed.

The Safety and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing functions aimed at maintaining a safe and secure environment at all nine SoLAcc campus locations. This individual assumes a leadership role in implementing effective incident response, performing incident investigations to determine cause, and training all internal and external personnel on Office of Safety and Security procedures. In addition, this position inspects and audits all SoLAcc locations to identify potential safety concerns, active threats, and/or lapses in compliance with all safety and security policies and procedures.
