Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Staff cashier window and assist with student account inquiries.

• Receive and process student tuition and fee payments.

• Maintain cash drawer, reconcile daily receipts and prepare daily bank deposits.

• Maintain student and staff parking records and issue parking tags.

• Manage student delinquent accounts, including preparing and issuing collection letters.

• Prepare Uncollectible Account submission to Attorney General.

• Assist with accounts payables and receiving.

• Maintain business office records including filing, scanning, record retention, and record destruction.

• Process incoming mail according to policy; ensure mail, fax and other documents are routed appropriately in a timely manner; prepare outgoing mail for the business office; monitor the college postage machine.

• Assist with preparing and mailing of 1098Ts.

• Assist Purchasing Department with requisition preparation.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding privileged information obtained in the course of work.

• Use sound financial judgement by following internal controls and College policies.

• Support the mission, vision and goals of the College.

• Perform other duties as assigned; may serve as backup for others in finance.

 

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree. An Associate’s degree plus 5 years of experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and students; excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to take on multiple projects simultaneously. Computer knowledge including the use of database, spreadsheets, and word processing software.

 

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business.

 

Preferred Experience: Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with the accounts receivable and finance modules in the Banner System is a plus.
