Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for product distribution to classes, in an organized, sanitary and safe manner including linen distribution and inventory. Assist instructors with last minute changes in requisitions or menus. Assist instructors with troubleshooting and demonstrations. Assist if there is an emergency in class. Responsible for receiving and inspecting orders, checking and storing product. Verification of current inventory. Monitors and records cooler and freezer temperatures and cooler and freezer organization/sanitation.
Responsible for dish pit maintenance. Assists with Pest & Rodent control. Classroom and kitchen lab upkeep including cleaning and storage of kitchen equipment and chemical organization. Responsible for the ensuring COVID safety protocols are met including wiping and sanitizing food contact surfaces, equipment and prep areas. Oversees handling of recyclable and compostable products. Responsible for opening the kitchen in the mornings, setting up dish pit and preparing kitchen labs for instruction. Assists with events. Maintains kitchen garden with instructors. Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Required Education: High School Graduate or GED.
Required Experience: Minimum (2) years industry experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications: ServSafe Food Handler certified by the first day of employment. Must maintain certification throughout employment.
Preferred Education: AAS in Culinary Arts or other Foodservice related major desired.
Preferred Experience: Minimum (5) years of industry experience.
Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
