Working Title:  Student Activities Graduate Assistant (Fall 2023/Spring 2024)
Job Summary: The Student Activities Graduate Assistant co-advises the Campus Activity Board and Homecoming Executive Board. This role will assist in the planning of programming, events, and homecoming week.

• Serve as a co-advisor role for two student-led programming board, Campus Activity Board (CAB) and Homecoming Executive Board, and work with student groups on membership development, program planning, conflict resolution, and more.
• Oversee all aspects of recruiting, hiring, and training the CAB and Homecoming Executive Board.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and follow-up of all virtual and in-person CAB and Homecoming programs and activities.
• Participate in ongoing design, implementation, assessment, recruitment and marketing campaigns of Student Activities initiatives and programs.
• Ensure programs and events are mindful of and abiding by any UWF policies or procedures.
• Assist in the training and development of programming board student leaders in the areas of personal development, leadership, event planning, and career preparation.
• Communicate with external parties and vendors to purchase items, lease equipment, contract talent, order food, and solicit sponsorship.
• Assist in maintaining program budgets.
• Ensure balance of proposed program series by providing timely feedback and by suggesting appropriate alternatives.
• Suggest innovative programming, stimulate creativity, and encourage committee members to seek out and evaluate new programming possibilities.
• Participate in problem solving and analysis related to various functional operations, including policies and procedures, human resources, and budgets.
• Coordinate volunteer/member recruitment and management.
• Lead one all-staff meeting per academic year.
• Assist with additional Student Engagement department-wide initiatives as assigned, which may include but are not limited to: Argo Arrival, Club UDub, Convocation, Beach Bash, Argopalooza, FSL Kickoff, FSL Recruitment, Homecoming, CAB Events, CAB After Dark, Family Weekend, Football Tailgates, Student Leadership Awards, SOLD Workshops, Community Service Activities, committee assignments, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must be a graduate student at the University of West Florida and pursuing work related to the student’s graduate studies program.

Position Qualifications: • Must be enrolled in a UWF graduate program and maintain good academic standing.
• Must register for and complete 6 credits of coursework per semester (fall, spring, and summer) or be registered for thesis credit.
• Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, written communication and editing skills, project management, and strong analytic and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Must have a current driver's license as the position may require running errands off-campus
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications include: advising experience, event planning experience, and availability to work evening and weekend hours
