About the role
In this role, you will be the driving force behind the City’s strategic sourcing, selection, and assessment practices, ensuring they align with business objectives and contribute to organisational success. You'll work closely with leaders to centralise, optimise, and embed best-practice Talent Acquisition strategies, delivering an exceptional candidate experience and strong organisational outcomes.

Classification: Senior Professional Level $144,271 plus superannuation

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the Talent Acquisition team to deliver on the City’s Workforce Plan and People & Culture (P&C) Strategy.
  • Develop and implement innovative Talent Acquisition ecosystems to enhance stakeholder networks, technologies, and strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery in line with the People & Culture Strategy.
  • Embed advanced candidate assessment systems, including psychometric tools, to evaluate sentiment and cultural alignment.
  • Partner with the Inclusion and Diversity Lead to integrate best practices into recruitment processes.
  • Strengthen the City’s Employer Brand through targeted marketing, recruitment campaigns, and digital platforms.
  • Ensure governance, compliance, and quality across all Talent Acquisition processes.
  • Use data analytics to measure and optimise the ROI of Talent Acquisition initiatives.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have tertiary qualifications in Business or Human Resource Management, and extensive experience leading Talent Acquisition in a comparable organization, along with a proven ability to manage and develop teams, elevating Talent Acquisition capability to a high level of maturity.

Essential Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully collaborating with peers and stakeholders to achieve business objectives through centralised Talent Acquisition services.
  • Extensive knowledge and proven experience in Talent Acquisition in a complex and often challenging environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching an executive team and collaborating with others in the pursuit of P&C goals.
  • Proven ability to effectively negotiate with and influence clients and stakeholders to achieve and  support strategic outcomes.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and representation skills, with the proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people internally and externally to the City.
  • Demonstrated experience in working autonomously under broad direction, with performance being measured.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
  • Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
