About the role
In this role, you will play a hands on role as an educator whilst being responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a developmentally appropriate educational program that supports a holistic approach to the care and development of children aged from six weeks to school age in our temporary crèche care at Splashdown Leisure Centre – Moolap.
Our creche operates 9:00am-11:30am Monday to Friday with additional Team Leader time allocated for administration. Some flexibility of days of work may be possible for the right applicant.
Work type: Permanent Part Time (Up to 16.25hrs per week)
Classification: Band 4 $71,647 - $76,545 (pa – pro rata plus super)
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership to the Creche team to ensure a safe, caring and stimulating environment exists for all children and that the health and well- being of each child is a priority.
- Maintain detailed developmental observations and records for each individual child to be used as a basis for individual and group programming.
- Provide, implement, and evaluate age and developmentally appropriate programs for all children, individually and in the group situation.
- To provide programs which assist children with special needs to develop their skills and abilities within a supportive environment.
- Assist in the development and management of staff rosters to ensure that all programming needs are planned for.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have experience as a Early Childhood Educator and a passion for providing quality care for young children in our community.
Essential Experience:
- A Qualification in early childhood development together with practical experience in the care of pre-school children essential.
- Current Working with Children Check and Level 2 First Aid (including Anaphylaxis).
- Sound knowledge of the development of children in the 0-6 years age group and proven ability to plan appropriate programs.
- Well-developed skill in observing and interpreting children’s behaviour and demonstrated ability to relate effectively to young children.
- Sound knowledge of federal and state childcare regulations.
- Ability to identify Health and Safety issues pertaining to the work environment.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police check and Medical assessment as part of the recruitment process.
