About The Role

Thiess is seeking a dedicated Process Specialist to join our Payroll team at the Brisbane Head Office.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive library of payroll processes and work instructions, ensuring consistency in payroll administration and mitigating risks. You will also lead initiatives aimed at improving payroll processes to create efficiencies and reduce manual tasks. This position requires strong collaboration with various internal teams, including Payroll Transformation, Payroll Compliance, and IT, to support the overall effectiveness of our payroll operations. If you have a strong background in payroll processes and a commitment to continuous improvement, we want to hear from you!

Additionally, you will:

  • Create and update payroll process maps and work instructions for all payroll tasks to ensure consistency and clarity.

  • Drive end-to-end process enhancements, analyse inefficiencies, and implement optimised solutions to deliver measurable business benefits.

  • Present proposed improvements to stakeholders, negotiate outcomes, communicate changes effectively, and provide necessary training.

  • Document risks and controls within payroll processes, conduct root cause analyses, and collaborate with Project Managers and Payroll Leaders on interdependencies and impacts.

  • Conduct stakeholder workshops for requirements gathering and solution design, and perform critical analysis to identify gaps and develop future state process considerations.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a proven track record of success in planning and executing process improvement initiatives, particularly within a payroll context. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in creating clear and effective process maps and work instructions. You should possess exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. A keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving abilities are essential for this role. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial as you'll be interacting with various stakeholders. We're looking for someone who can thrive both independently and as part of a team in our fast-paced environment.

Additionally, you have:

  • Business Process Management qualifications and/or equivalent experience.

  • Lean / Six Sigma certification, desirable.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with process mapping software.

  • Familiarity with HRIS and/or Payroll systems is advantageous.

Please note that this role will be a full-time permanent position and applications for this role will close at midnight on Monday 18 November 2024.
