The Opportunity
 
As our Mining Supervisor, you will lead a collaborative team of operators to maintain safe, productive and cohesive workings.  Drawing on your extensive expertise, you will provide strategic advice, develop and improve your team, and provide necessary operational support to achieve health and safety excellence across our workplaces.
 This position is based at Iron Bridge, located 145km from Port Hedland on an 8/6, 7/7 roster FIFO from Perth.

About the role
 
In this role, you will:
  • Execute load and haul activities on a daily basis in relation to mine plans by prioritising resources, machinery and people.
  • Solve daily and weekly technical and resource logistical problems.
  • Execute mine and development activities according to daily mine plans.
  • Manage the pit team's activities by setting performance objectives.
  • Ensure full statutory and safety compliance of load and haul, production and mine development activities.
Skills and experience required;
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role in an open pit mining environment
  • Hold a current WHS Statutory Responsibilities for Mining Supervisors (SRMS) certificate (replaces the Section 44)
  • Extensive practical knowledge and experience in mining operations.
  • Proven and effective people management skills.
  • Clear verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate labour, equipment and materials.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Able to act as a strong and positive example to the workforce.
  • Mature and professional approach to all matters.
  • Current driver's licence.
