About the role 

We are seeking experienced AHS Controllers to assist with coordinating the Mine controller operations using MineStar at Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex. 

Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres south-east of Moranbah which commenced mining operations in mid-2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as construction of the mine infrastructure.

Working an 7/7 day/night roster and reporting to the Supervisor Mine Control your duties will include:

  • Effectively manage a fleet of Autonomous Haul Trucks (AHT) and deliver on key dispatching metrics ensuring maximum utilisation of machines on a 24hr plan from the control room
  • Creating and editing dump plans, load plans, stations, and park-ups
  • Collaborate with site and project teams and work with key internal and external stakeholders to meet the project’s targets in safety, environment, and production
  • Management and maintenance of the virtual mine model to allow the efficient execution of the daily mine plan and ensure it accurately reflects the physical mining areas
  • Communicating effectively with Mining Supervisors/Coordinators and key personnel
  • Provide effective support to mine personnel where required

About you

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience with AHS Controlling 
  • Experience in mining, technology, and/or logistics industry with Autonomous Haulage Systems such as MineStar Command and/or Komatsu FrontRunner systems
  • Demonstrated experience in similar Autonomous Haulage Controller and/or Builder role
  • A great attitude towards learning and developing new skills with a passion for innovation and technology
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • Collaborative, communication, and influencing skills together with computer literacy
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task as required
  • Drive safety, culture, and productivity in a team environment
  • Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) experience
  • Valid C Class Driving License
