Adjunct Instructor - Accounting Technology SOWELA Lake Charles, LA
This is a part-time adjunct position beginning immediately. The School of Business and Applied Technology offers an AAS in Accounting Technology. The Adjunct Instructor – Accounting Technology conducts college-level, transferrable courses in the discipline area of Accounting Technology while developing and designing curriculum plans that foster learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure student engagement. This Adjunct Instructor is responsible for preparing and delivering lectures online, on-ground, and/or in hybrid situations, creating a learning environment, and assessing student learning. The Adjunct Instructor – Accounting Technology maintains accurate grade and attendance records, and individual student progress data, and ensures this is a part of the student’s permanent record; adheres to all laws pertaining to disclosure of student records; posts at the office and on the syllabus, on-campus and/or virtual hours to facilitate interaction with students, other faculty, staff administrators, and the public. The Adjunct Instructor – Accounting Technology must be available to students via email, phone, and/or in-person conference, and may mentor other staff or students.

The instructor will present specific Math course content with summary assessment of student ability to retain and apply the information in an academic setting. An instructor is responsible for classroom preparation for lectures and labs, proctoring of exams, advising students, and registration. Instructional responsibilities of the equivalent of a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester with developmental math courses composing part to all of the primary course load; 10 office hours per week; an additional 15 hours per week spent in activities such as, participation in advising and registration; participation in developmental activities, including curriculum development and review; and participation in committee assignments as determined by the Chair of the mathematics department or other college administrators. Embedded Program Coordinator DCC New Orleans, LA
The grant funded Embedded Program Coordinator serves as the scheduler, lead embedded coach, and trainer for writing coaches deployed within composition classroom studios to assist instructors and students with active learning processes. The EPC also serves as the liaison with instructors and coaches to assure quality and success within the program as measured by improved student success and retention rates and increased CWRC attendance. The purpose of this position is to serve as a liaison between the State of Louisiana Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) to support the goals of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.
