Duties and Responsibilities:
Work Habits - 20%
• Completes repairs to the physical plant as required.
• Performs accident and incident reports as required.
• Advise on and respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
• Maintain accurate operational records, reports, inspections, and documentation related to departmental activities.
• Assists with monitoring work order completion, preventative maintenance schedules, and service delivery standards.
• Coordinates with contractors, vendors, and internal departments regarding operational and maintenance activities.
• Responds to operational issues and service interruptions in a timely and professional manner.
• Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, and adaptability in dynamic operational environments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Institutional Support - 20%
• Assists with ensuring that all assigned facilities are safe, clean, and presentable.
• Inspect building, grounds, and equipment and make recommendations for various types of repairs and maintenance needed to the physical plant at assigned locations.
• Monitors facility conditions across multiple campus locations to ensure consistency in operational standards and service delivery.
• Coordinates facility-related communication and operational updates between campuses and departmental leadership.
• Assists with identifying operational trends, recurring maintenance concerns, and resource needs across assigned locations.
• Supports operational continuity during campus events, emergencies, weather events, and institutional disruptions affecting multiple sites.
• Assists with executing quality assurance checks, inspecting the work of contractors and service providers, and the creation of cost estimates and requisitions for supplies and equipment as requested.
• Inspects buildings and assists with ensuring compliance with Access Control Policies and Procedures, by verifying that access to these facilities is restricted, properly monitored, and secured after normal operations.
• Responsible for the proper documentation and execution of the college's Key/Access Card Distribution Program.
• Supports preventative maintenance initiatives intended to improve equipment reliability and reduce operational disruptions.
• Assists with inventory tracking and accountability for departmental equipment, tools, keys, and assigned assets.
• Coordinates or assists with campus setup needs related to institutional events, emergencies, and special projects.
• Supports departmental efforts related to operational efficiency, sustainability, and resource stewardship when applicable.
Team Relations - 25%
• Assists with the coordination of all emergency response protocols for all on-site emergencies.
• Communicate the status of these emergencies to the lead site administrator, Office of Safety and Security, and other appropriate personnel.
• Maintains effective working relationships with campus leadership, faculty, staff, students, contractors, and external service providers.
• Maintains effective communication with administrators and stakeholders across multiple campus locations.
• Builds collaborative working relationships with personnel at geographically distributed sites.
• Provides responsive operational support to assigned campuses while considering the activities and needs of instructional programs and other departments.
• Communicate operational updates, service interruptions, and emergency information to appropriate stakeholders.
• Collaborates with other departments to support institutional operations and campus initiatives.
• Supports a culture of professionalism, responsiveness, and operational excellence.
Leadership - 15%
• Coordinates personnel, operational resources, and maintenance priorities across multiple campus locations.
• Provides operational oversight and direction to staff working at geographically separated facilities.
• Conducts regular site visits and facility inspections at assigned campuses and instructional sites.
• Assists with balancing staffing coverage and operational support between campuses based on institutional needs.
• Ensure that all departmental personnel are properly trained and can complete their duties as assigned.
• Evaluate the performance of employees and perform administrative functions for the management of all front-line personnel. Tasks include but are not limited to leave approvals, time absentees and attendance management, performance evaluations, and work reports.
• Monitors workflow, staffing coverage, and operational priorities to ensure efficient execution of departmental services.
• Coordinate operational activities through the College’s work order and maintenance management systems (FMX).
• Supports employee accountability through coaching, documentation, corrective action recommendations, and performance feedback.
• Assists with scheduling personnel and coordinating operational coverage for special events, emergencies, and institutional activities.
• Ensures compliance with departmental operating procedures, institutional policies, and workplace safety practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate Degree OR four (4) years of directly related work experience
• Five (5) years in the building construction trades, building maintenance, or repair of mechanical equipment OR Three years of supervisory experience in these professions.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Valid, unencumbered driver's license
