The Assistant Vice Chancellor of Institutional Effectiveness and Research collects, extracts, analyses, interprets, reports, and distributes pertinent institutional data/information to internal and external entities. 

The Assistant Vice Chancellor of Institutional Effectiveness and Research works with faculty and administration and serves as the primary source for data and information, as well as providing expertise in analysis and reporting. The work of this position is highly collaborative and integrated with academic and operational departments across the College. The individual will work closely with the Office of Information Technology and with data users from across the campus to devise and modify procedures, to solve complex problems, and provide the campus with the information it needs for outcomes assessment, strategic planning and accreditation.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
40%
• Analyzes and reports institution-wide data to outside agencies. Compiles, completes, and ensures compliance with mandatory reporting requirements with LCTCS, BOR, state, IPEDS, federal, and other external agencies.
• Builds reports with core metrics for campus stakeholders. Collects, develops, analyzes, and communicates institutional data to constituents throughout the college, to support and enhance informed decision-making, problem solving, and policy development. Ensures that institutional effectiveness activities are appropriately supported with accurate data analytics.
• Assessment support: Partners with the Faculty Senate Committees for Assessment and General Education in the execution of assessment procedures, data collection, analysis and reporting. Researches, identifies, communicates, and develops assessment tools and methodologies.
• Provides data analytics and reporting support for SACS-COC and other programmatic reaffirmation and accreditation activities. Works with the College’s SACSCOC Liaison to facilitate compliance with SACSCOC accreditation requirements.
• Provides institutional data to academic units, for QEP projects and other initiatives to improve student learning, services, and programs.

• Supervises the Director of Curriculum and Assessment and supports the role in all duties assigned.
• Supervises the Data Analyst and supports the role in all duties assigned.
• Supplies data to support grant applications.
• Provides data to academic units for external agencies academic program accreditation reports.
• Develops and maintains survey guidance and guidelines for use by campus community. Assists and develops surveys, administer surveys, and performs survey data analytics.
25%
• Remains current regarding national and State research relating to community colleges and higher education. Maintain a thorough understanding of all academic, registration, programs, policies and procedures including institutional policies and federal and state regulations. Comply with applicable federal and state laws as well as BRCC policies. Establishes, maintains, and engages in campus-wide collaborations and efforts to ensure a culture of evidence.

• Other duties as assigned

Required Education: Master's degree in Data Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Science, Business or a related field with applied use of data analysis.

Required Experience: Five (5) years professional experience in research, data analysis, data science, or data modeling in higher education, or similar relevant professional experience

PhD in one of the required fields will substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.

Preferred Education: PhD in Data Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Science, Business or a related field with applied use of data analytics.

Preferred Experience: 8+ years professional experience in research, data analysis, data science, or data modeling, in higher education, or similar relevant professional experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of Banner, COGNOS, Excel, Canvas, and experience working with databases. Requires knowledge of and proficiency with: research theory and methodology; advanced applied statistics; report writing; survey design; personal computer systems.
