Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist the Executive Director in the day-to-day management of the Human Resources department providing guidance and support.
• Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes, ensuring compliance with college policies and legal requirements.
• Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, including Title IX, ADA, FMLA, and other state and federal employment regulations.
• Assist with employee relations issues, providing support in resolving conflicts and addressing concerns to maintain a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Administer performance evaluation processes and assist supervisors in managing employee performance and professional development.
• Coordinate training and professional development programs for faculty and staff.
• Prepare and maintain HR related reports, including payroll, compliance, and personnel data.
• Collaborate with other college departments to support faculty and staff needs, working closely with finance, student services, and administration.
• Participate in strategic HR planning to ensure alignment with the college’s goals, mission, and values.
• Manage the HRIS (Human Resource Information System), ensuring accurate data entry and system functionality.
• Assist in the management of labor relations and collective bargaining, including supporting the Executive Director in negotiations and contract administration.
• Stay current on trends and best practices in human resources, particularly in higher education.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of five years of experience in human resources, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience in a higher education setting is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience with HR software systems.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
