Duties and Responsibilities: • Work in close conjunction with the Marketing and Communications Manager to conceptualize and design various marketing materials, including but not limited to brochures, flyers, posters, digital ads, social media graphics, and email campaigns, while securing approvals from the appropriate individuals.
• Develop short and simple videos for the College’s social media pages.
• Photograph institutional events, student activities, facilities, headshots and other subjects for college publications and web properties.
• Edit and enhance photographs and other visual assets for use in marketing materials.
• Publish and maintain the digital ads for monitors at SOWELA’s main campus and instructional sites.
• Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns to promote college programs, events, and initiatives.
• Provide support at department functions, including fundraisers, recruitment events and college announcements.
• Provide general administrative support to the department, such as picking up department mail, updating the press archive and organizing files.
• Other duties as deemed necessary.

Required Education: • Associates degree.

Required Experience: • Two years’ work experience in graphic design, marketing, communications, and/or relevant experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Skilled in Illustrator.
• Familiarity with Photoshop.
• Familiar with basic video and photo editing techniques, with willingness and ability to advance skills in this area.
• Knowledge of or ability to become knowledgeable of SOWELA’s brand strategy and standards.
• Proficiency in the use of standard office equipment and networked personal computers.
• Proficiency in or ability to become proficient in a variety of software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations needed to complete job tasks.
• Skilled at planning, organizing, and prioritizing job duties to meet deadlines.

Required Licenses or Certifications: 

Preferred Education: • Associates degree or above in Digital Arts, Communication, or similar degree area.
