Job Summary: This position provides support and leadership to increase students' out-of-class learning experiences and encourage student engagement and belonging. This includes coordinating the creation and implementation of strategic leadership training programs, developing co-curricular student leadership opportunities, intercultural programs, student engagement programs, supporting the leadership within student clubs and organizations, volunteer opportunities, and other engagement opportunities that support student success, retention, and persistence. This position will require travel to all campus locations.
Develop a year-long calendar of programs and services that aid in the growth, persistence, and retention of underrepresented student populations and foster intercultural awareness and cross-cultural interaction among students, faculty, and staff.
Develops campus-wide partnerships with departments and organizations to support intersectional programming as well as identity-conscious leadership development and student engagement. Develop and provide an inclusive marketing/branding presence that reflects campus leadership and engagement opportunities in conjunction with college policy and procedure.


 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years experience.*Or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Such as those listed above

Hiring Range: $48,182- $60,227

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 4-5 years experience or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Job Specific Task List:

  • Assumes leadership and functional responsibility for identifying, planning, implementing, assessing, and managing a robust curriculum of programming for students that will drive student engagement and success while introducing ideas and themes that support student development, cultural awareness, and identity development that provide equitable opportunities from an intersectional framework.
  • Creates assessment tools for evaluating programs and services, assesses engagement programs, and utilizes information to enhance or develop new initiatives.
  • Will travel across all campuses (Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York) in the coordination, facilitation and implementation of student programming, engagement and leadership opportunities.
  • Design, deliver, and sustain a Co-Curricular Transcript (CCT) that reflects students’ participation, engagement, and achievements outside the classroom at HACC.
  • Design, facilitate and deliver comprehensive leadership development education through retreats, sessions, workshops, conferences, and other formats.
  • Partner with departments throughout the College to develop and facilitate leadership training for student leaders, combining NACE,NACA, ACPA, student leadership, and intercultural competencies.
  • Partner with departments like Wellness, Athletics, Retention & Engagement (WARE), Center for Global Opportunities & Education, Men of Color Initiatives, Student Access Services (SAS), Military & Veteran Affairs (MVA), Consultation, Advocacy, Referrals and Empowerment (CARE) Center, International Student Services (ISS), New Student Orientation (NSO), Advising, and Career Development & Transfer Services to provide a holistic approach to engagement and leadership development opportunities.
  • Stay current on progressive leadership, identity and engagement development theories, training methods, certifications, flexible learning and engagement formats/modalities as well as program evaluation. - (Essential)
  • Consult with internal and external training providers to design, facilitate and deliver comprehensive leadership and service education (e.g., other training and development opportunities) for student leaders ( across campus).
  • In partnership with the Student Government Association advisors, provide guidance and support to student government and club/organization leaders, assisting them in effectively navigating the complexities of governance, advocating for student needs, and executing their responsibilities.
  • Lead strategic planning and implementation efforts to increase student access to leadership development and engagement programs and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness and impact of leadership programs and initiatives.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and support student workers assigned to the office.
  • Coordinate in collaboration with supervisor in the maintenance of budgets for leadership programming and engagement initiatives.
