Job Summary: Coordinates administration of College employee benefits and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, standards, procedures, and
policies in a diverse and inclusive environment to support the College mission and strategic plan. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree and 3 years related experience required;
• OR a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job is required.
• Current PHR, SHRM, or HR-related certification will count as 1 year related experience.
• Current Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or related benefits-specific certification is required, or must be obtained within three
years of employment.

Job Specific Task List:

  •  Applies professional knowledge to coordinate the implementation and administration of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, voluntary insurance, COBRA, and retirement programs to streamline operations; provides excellent customer service to employees and human resources staff regarding benefits-related matters to ensure an optimal employee experience; serves as point of contact between the College and external benefits vendors and agencies to build strong communication and relationships. - (Essential)
  • Maintains expert working knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations and College policies as they relate to human resources, benefits, and retirement plans to ensure strict compliance and identify risk to the College. - (Essential)
  • Exercises professional judgement in management of projects and daily operations of the employee benefits area; makes non-routine decisions using general guidelines; adheres to timelines and meets deadlines. - (Essential)
  • Maintains and ensures precise accuracy of employee benefits data, payroll deductions, and records; ensures consistency across internal and external human resources information systems (HRIS); runs automated processes and generates routine and ad hoc reports; identifies and implements efficiencies to optimize operations. - (Essential)
  • Analyzes benefit enrollment and utilization data for administration, vendors, and committees; provides professional oral/written reports/presentations to update and educate employees and to support leadership and decision-making processes; plans and coordinates educational programs and materials for a diverse employee population to ensure employees understand their benefits and have the knowledge to make the best decisions for their unique situations. - (Essential)
  • Organizes annual benefits open enrollment activities, including: planning, creating, updating, and delivering professional presentations and materials; providing timely responses to a large volume of communications; managing enrollment and related systems, forms, and processes; and auditing data for accuracy. - (Essential)
  • Creates and maintains benefits-related policies and internal department procedures to ensure accuracy and clarity. - (Essential)
  • Researches and resolves routine and non-routine problems related to employee benefits to ensure employee satisfaction; maintains highest level of confidentiality, - (Essential)
  • Represents human resources at various committees, meetings, presentations, and trainings. - (Essential)
  • Performs other duties as assigned. - (Standard)
