Job Summary: | The Coordinator supports the transfer admissions process for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This role involves working with new transfer students from recruitment (prospect) through enrollment and conducting evaluations and articulations for admission to the university. The Coordinator maintains the transfer articulation catalog in Banner, determines the transferability and applicability of coursework to state and university requirements, and researches out-of-state courses to identify equivalencies within the State University System (SUS). Additionally, the Coordinator handles the articulation of all international college and university credentials, accelerated methods, and military coursework; interprets and applies admission rules and policies; advises prospective transfer students; and assists with application and enrollment-related issues, such as departmental information and financial aid or scholarship award packages. The incumbent must be able to interpret and make decisions based on state and university policies and procedures, determine Florida residency qualifications per Florida Statutes, and work with the Senior Assistant Director to develop goals and implement strategies for achievement. Recruitment and travel may be required. |

Minimum Qualifications: | Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Four years of direct experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. |
Position Qualifications: | Knowledge of policies and procedures established by the Florida Department of Education and the University of West Florida is required, along with a background in Admissions and/or Higher Education. Must possess knowledge of degree programs, university facilities, and services available to students. Ability to interpret and communicate procedures and policies to university deans, directors, department chairs, and other authorized personnel and agencies is essential. Experience in interpreting transcripts and calculating GPAs for applicants is required, as is the ability to apply sound judgment and discernment when evaluating information from various educational systems. |
Preferred Qualifications | Previous experience working in a college or university admissions office, along with experience using Banner and Slate, is preferred. |
