About the role
In this role, you will lead TGGB’s corporate and industry communications, managing key channels and delivering targeted, engaging content. You will equip members with the knowledge, tools and insights they need to build and sustain a resilient visitor economy, while strengthening communication with the broader community and key stakeholders to support TGGB’s objectives.
Work type: Permanent, part-time (4 days a week)
Classification: Band 6, $95,760 pa + super (pro rata)
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver communications and engagement initiatives that support departmental strategy and priorities.
- Provide communications advice and support to leaders and key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead TGGB’s corporate branding, publications and media activity, including key documents such as the Annual Report and Member Opportunity Guide.
- Manage digital programs and content strategies to grow the online presence of Greater Geelong and The Bellarine and strengthen member engagement.
- Coordinate and deliver content across TGGB’s corporate website, social media and electronic direct mail to inform and engage members and stakeholders.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in communications, marketing tourism or digital field and previous experience in a comparable role and organisation.
Essential Experience:
- Previous professional experience within the tourism industry.
- Exceptional people skills to build relationships, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Experience in brand management and internal/external communications.
- Solid understanding of Tourism Greater Geelong & The Bellarine and the tourism industry.
- Sound technical skills in content management systems, customer relationship management, email and e-newsletter platforms.
- Competence in delivering and moderating content on social platforms including Facebook and LinkedIn.
- Experience in corporate communication planning and strategy development including monitoring and reporting on results.
- Customer-focused with a strong work ethic.
- Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading skills.
- Skilled in research and data-driven decision-making.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check (funded by the City).
