About the role
In this role, you will lead engaging and safe group fitness or aqua sessions, ensuring participants of all levels enjoy a positive and inclusive experience. You will also assist with customer service, program administration, and minor first aid and cleaning duties, supporting the smooth operation of the Swim Sport and Leisure centre.
Work type: Casual
Classification: $53.53 p/h (including casual loading)
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the safe, timely and effective set up, pack up and instruction of group exercise or aqua sessions.
- Assisting with customer service duties.
- Performing minor cleaning.
- Assisting in administering first aid.
- Assisting in program administration/promotional duties.
About you
The ideal candidate for these roles, will have previous experience teaching group fitness programs and have the confidence and ability to liaise with a diverse range of people. You will have a friendly, outgoing personality and be committed to providing a quality level of service to the community.
Essential Experience:
- Certification in the specific format is required:
a. Yoga: certification based on course training that includes 200hrs or greater.
b. Pilates: certification based on course training that includes 100hrs or greater.
c. Reformer: certification based on course training that includes 100hrs or greater.
d. Aqua: Aqua Exercise Instructor. Annual competency in ‘perform water rescues’
e. Les Mills and Zumba Fitness: program certification plus Cert III in Fitness or GEL. f. Freestyle: Cert III in Fitness (or above) plus relevant format certification (i.e. Cycle, Boxing)
- Provide First Aid certificate.
- Current CPR.
- Working with Children Check.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
