Adjunct Instructor 1 - Construction Management Multiple Locations
We are seeking adjunct faculty to teach one course or a variety of courses, in one or more of the following degree programs: Building Construction Technology AAS, Civil Engineering Technology AAS, and Construction Management BS. In addition to the more common topics associated with the degree programs, experience in construction, surveying, construction finance, construction law, and virtual design and construction will be considered. Assignments may be lectures or labs; face-to-face, blended or online; in Big Rapids and/or Grand Rapids. A focus on student success, office hours, and use of current technology are expected. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions: Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. Adjunct Instructor 3 – Theatre Tech Big Rapids, MI 49307
This is a 9-month Adjunct Instructor, multifaceted position encompassing the roles of Theatre Adjunct instructor, Technical Director/Designer, and Auditorium Manager. As a Theatre Adjunct Instructor, you will teach one course per semester. In the role of Technical Director/Designer, you will be responsible for designing the set, lighting, and sound for the University Theatre productions (one per semester), overseeing set construction and prop creation, managing the Theatre scene shop, collaborating with the Production/Performance Director on show selection, scheduling technical rehearsals and performances, and oversite of the budget. As the Auditorium Manager, you will manage the operation and administration of the University’s Williams Auditorium. This includes scheduling events, coordinating with both University and external groups using the space, supervising student workers to assist with event setup and execution, and managing event budgets. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. This is a 9-month appointment with the possibility of renewal. The start date is August 2025. Required: MFA in Theatre or Technical Theatre/Design, or MA in a related area. Two years teaching college-level Theatre and/or Technical Theatre/Design courses. Experience in set, light, and/or sound design, technical direction and scene shop management at college and/or professional level.
Space & Asset Manager Big Rapids, MI 49307
Provide for technical and administrative matters pertaining to the computerized maintenance management system that includes; the identification and inventory of maintainable equipment, as well as, space utilization on the Big Rapids and Grand Rapids campuses. Develops and maintains the accuracy of equipment metadata by regularly collecting and inputting information in a computerized asset management system. Determines appropriate method of accomplishment and prepares asset management data, including space details. Research methods, materials, systems, and assists in developing processes and procedures related to the space & asset management program that includes space & asset management plans, space & asset class strategies, maintenance procedures, and space & asset information management. Prepares data summaries, reports, and presentations leveraging data in the various programs and systems. Provides map and attribute information required by Facilities Management and other university departments. Responsible for maintaining, implementing, and updating the integrated workplace management system (IWMS), procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness of maps, databases, engineering documents, and associated data through increased consistency and system integration. Required: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Facilities Management, or other related discipline. Five years of professional experience working with a IWMS software. Experience with planning, scheduling, and auditing overall facilities/maintenance activities related to space or asset management. Experience working with building maintenance personnel. High degree of skills and ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with a wide range of professional and contractor personnel.
Administrator of First-Generation Student Engagement Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Administrator of First-Generation Student Engagement will serve as the primary advocate and leader for first-generation student initiatives and programs at Ferris State University. This position is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of all programming designed to support the success of first-generation and first-generation, low-income (FGLI) students. Through collaboration with campus departments, community organizations, state and national partners, and high schools across Michigan, the administrator will work to enhance recruitment, foster belonging, and advance student persistence, retention, and graduation outcomes. By overseeing these initiatives and ensuring compliance with grant regulations, this role provides substantial benefit to the university by creating pathways to success for a substantial portion of the student body. Additionally, the administrator will manage budgets, support grant activities, and work with various stakeholders to strategically position Ferris as a leader in first-generation student engagement. This is a grant funded position with up to a four-year temporary assignment ending September 30th, 2029, with the possibility of renewal contingent upon continued grant funding and successful performance. Esports Teams Coordinator Big Rapids, MI 49307
This position will develop and ensure the success of Ferris' Competitive esports program and is in charge of recruiting student-players, managing the budget, overseeing the general operations, coaching, and building the program identity. Duties include; supervising student staff and student-players, overseeing the daily operations of the esports arena, coordinating broadcast productions of esports competitions, and coordinating esports events hosted by Ferris State University. The preferred candidate will be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Travel for team tournaments and recruiting will be required. Assistant Professor – Project Management (Tenure Track - 9 month) Big Rapids, MI 49307
The College of Business at Ferris State University seeks a diverse group of outstanding applicants for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in Project Management. Provide expert financial aid counseling to campus constituents and office staff, including appropriate information on aid eligibility, debt management, cost of attendance at Ferris State University and more. Maintain expert knowledge concerning the regulatory governance of institutional, state, and federal financial aid programs, with an ability to convey complex financial aid concepts to a diverse campus population from prospective students to executive leadership. Data Analyst - Pharmaceutical Sciences (Full-time temporary) Grand Rapids, MI 49503
This position is a full-time temporary grant funded position approved through December 31st, 2025. The position will end upon expiration of the grant but could be renewed annually if funding is extended. The successful candidate hired for this position will use a variety of data sources to improve database management and reporting quality. The work involves the collection, aggregation, and evaluation of health care data using advanced functions in SQL and Python and leveraging advanced visualization techniques such as Power BI. With multiple grants and a growing research team, we require a data analyst who understands project management and can help oversee and coordinate team members, projects, and internal meetings.
