Interview Process

The interview process for this position will consist of three phases. Applicants who complete the application process and meet the position minimum requirements will be invited to interview in phase 1. Candidates will be notified of their status after each phase to confirm if they are moving forward in the selection process. 

  • Phase 1: 30-minute interview with the search committee
  • Phase 2: 30-minute interview with the search committee (different questions will be asked), 30-minute written exercise; 30-minute presentation with the Office of College Advancement team 
  • Phase 3: 30-minute interview with the vice president of college advancement (this phase will occur if you do not engage with the vice president of college advancement in phase 1 or 2; if you do engage with the vice president of college advancement in phase 1 or 2, phase 3 will not be necessary)

Job Summary: The digital admissions counselor is responsible for recruiting future students through virtual communications and events. An admissions counselor is an integral and front-facing representative of HACC. They integrate with high school and community partners and future students in the very beginning of the student's educational journey. They are the employees who provide future students with a vision of what life will be like at HACC and how to get started with the application and admissions process. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience or a combination of education and experience to successfully complete the essential job functions.

Hiring Range:$43,019 - $53,774

Job Specific Task List:

  • Recruit future students - (Essential)
  • Handle future student-related telephone calls received via the College’s toll-free number - (Essential)
  • Handle emails received via the Admissions Department email account - (Essential)
  • Present HACC to diverse populations through virtual presentations, group meetings and one-on-one appointments - (Essential)
  • Plan virtual special events - (Essential)
  • Assist future students with completing HACC’s application - (Essential)
  • Attend virtual events – including college fairs, job fairs, high school information sessions and other community events – to present and provide information about HACC to future students - (Essential)
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in writing, by phone and through Zoom - (Essential)
  • Provide excellent, consistent, equitable and fair customer service to all individuals - (Essential)
  • Serve as a liaison and contact person for high schools and other community partners who may refer future students to HACC - (Essential)
  • Maintain a calendar of virtual recruitment events and ensure HACC’s website is updated with opportunities for students to connect with admissions online - (Essential)
  • Create online resources and videos to assist future students with the admissions process - (Essential)
  • Offer opportunities for future students to connect with HACC admissions online during nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends - (Essential)
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism - (Essential)
  • Have reliable and updated technology to professionally, effectively and efficiently communicate with internal and external stakeholders - (Essential)
