POSITION OVERVIEW

JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director is responsible for membership, marketing, outreach, and special event fundraising, through expanding, cultivating and maintaining individual memberships, major gifts, and coordinating fundraising events. This includes direct mail, digital and on-air campaigns, pledge drive coordination, the sustaining member program, donor recognition events, outreach, and volunteer coordination, and special fundraising event planning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience: or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in developing and implementing fundraising campaigns and special events. Previous experience in working with donors, prospects, volunteers, board members, and diverse groups of individuals. Strong background in written and oral communication, public relations, strategic planning, and proposal preparation. Evidence of ability to manage multiple tasks, set goals and follow through, schedule time and activities, and work independently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree and two years of appropriate experience; or bachelor's degree and four years of appropriate experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:

  • 30% - Responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective donors. The incumbent will assist the WUWF Executive Director in setting strategies and policies related to fund raising, marketing, outreach, and special events - (Essential)
  • 50% - Responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing and development program to ensure continued revenue growth in support of the operation of WUWF. Primarily responsible for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospective donors; coordinating fund-raising campaigns, special events, marketing and outreach. Duties include the supervision of personnel in the areas of office administration (Development Coordinator) and outreach (Volunteer Coordinator) - (Essential)
  • 20% - Responsible under the direction of the WUWF Executive Director for the formulation of policy and plans related to the fund raising activities for the continued revenue growth of WUWF - (Essential)
