Working Title:  Development Coordinator for Athletics
Job Summary: The coordinator assists with all fundraising efforts related to the Argonaut Athletic Club (AAC) with a primary focus on implementing an annual giving and membership program that acquires, renews and stewards athletic donors. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President, and has a fundraising goal of $250,000.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Four years of direct experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Position Qualifications: The candidate must possess strong organizational skills, high interpersonal communication competence (both written and verbal), demonstrated skillfulness in strategic thinking and in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.

The candidate must have development or sales experience with a collegiate athletics program, institutional advancement and/or related organization and donor/customer constituencies. Proven record of event planning and implementation.

List any additional skills or abilities not covered in the sections above that are required for the position: Responsible for the assurance that all assigned development activities are operated in compliance with institutional, department, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications Development experience with collegiate athletics program, institutional advancement, sales and/or related organization.

Proven track record of achieving established fundraising/sales goals.

Experience working with multiple constituencies such as annual and major donors, customers, coaches, student-athletes, faculty/staff, alumni, parents, sponsors and other interested parties.

Proven record of event planning and implementation, experience working with donor or sales database as it relates to tracking gifts, verification of annual members, and stewardship activities such as member benefit redemption.

Knowledge and experience with website, email marketing and social media design and usage.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:
  • 50% - Oversee the implementation and management of the Argonaut Athletic Club annual giving program which includes membership drives, team phonathons, special events, faculty/staff campaign, Varsity Club campaign, other special initiatives and football cultivation and fundraising events. Related responsibilities also include the management of the donor database for the Argonaut Athletic Club which includes verification of donor gifts, gift acknowledgement, membership fulfillment, benefits redemption and club benefits. Responsible for achieving established and agreed upon fundraising goals and metrics in relation to fundraising responsibilities. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Renew and add annual donors by identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding annual donors. Manage a portfolio of thirty donor prospects at the lead annual gift level. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Coordinate AAC game day events, hospitality areas and parking plans as well as assist with athletic fundraising events including the Argonaut Athletic Club Donor & Student-Athlete Dinner and Argonaut Athletic Club days. Also assist with all football donor events such as President’s Tailgate, AAC donor events and recognitions, and ticket and parking renewals. Support the Assistant VP with the Sword & Shield Council, major donors, Football Founders, Champions Circle, faculty and staff and other constituencies as needed. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Plan and implement a communication strategy for all athletic donors. These include the AAC website, e-newsletter, social media, and other communications as appropriate. Also provide administrative support to development staff including writing proposals, scheduling, planning and corresponding with donors. - (Essential)
