| Job Summary: |
The Wellness Coordinator has direct supervision of the student peer educator staff and is responsible for daily operations of the Peer Health Education program; organizes, facilitates, and evaluates a variety of health promotion activities for a wide range of campus audiences to improve the overall health and well-being, academic performance, and retention of college students; assists in hiring, training, managing, and evaluating student staff; assists in researching, planning, and developing programs to support campus and community health initiatives; shares responsibility for strategic planning, quality control, achieving learning outcomes, and meeting the goals and objectives of the department, university, and state. |

| Preferred Qualifications |
Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in health education; experience providing sexual assault prevention, sexual health promotion, AOD education, body image education, stress reduction techniques, sleep hygiene, physical activity, mental health, nutrition, healthy relationships, other wellness related programs is highly desired; proficiency in desktop publishing, word processing, and graphic design software; willingness to learn new programs is helpful; experience with national and local conference presentations and submissions; photography, videography, and video editing skills are helpful |
| Essential Functions / Job Duties: |
- 40% - Coordinate a comprehensive wellness program to include interdisciplinary health promotion services, wellness campaigns, and outreach efforts; coordinate event details and staffing schedules to accommodate programs; assist in marketing, implementing, and evaluating programs for successful outcomes; monitor and organize internal systems for efficiency and quality control; ensure educational content and materials are accurate and up to date; guide peer educator staff in applying best practices for facilitating presentations, group discussions, and wellness workshops for students, faculty, and staff. - 20% - Collaborate with other departments, academic units and community partners by working closely with campus departments (e.g., Student Engagement, Counseling Services, Recreation, Dining Services) and organizations to integrate wellness programming, elicit involvement, and measure impact; organize and facilitate educational programs, campaigns, trainings, workshops, and events; provide wellness coaching, education, or referrals to students seeking health-related support. - (Essential)
- 15% - Develop marketing materials, newsletters, and social media content to promote wellness programs; monitor and maintain event calendars and communication platforms; conduct outreach efforts to increase student participation in wellness initiatives. - (Essential)
- 10% - Recruit, select, train, supervise, evaluate and develop graduate assistants and student employees and conduct staff meetings, as necessary; prepare opportunities for Peer Educators to gain health education competencies through community outreach, personal and team projects, and award recognition. - (Essential)
- 10% - Track and assess program effectiveness through surveys, attendance records, and student feedback; assist in compiling reports and recommendations to improve wellness services; use data to provide input in identifying trends and to adjust wellness programming accordingly - (Essential)
