Job Summary: The Annual Giving and Young Donor Coordinator I will report to the Assistant Director of Annual Giving. They play a crucial role in cultivating relationships with young alumni and building a strong base of annual donors who are passionate about supporting the university's mission. This individual will manage a portfolio of assigned donors, maintaining regular communication to meet expected goals for engagement and giving. This individual will assist with the planning and execution of annual giving campaigns, as needed, which include direct mail appeals, social fundraising initiatives, email solicitations, text solicitations and athletic and programmatic phonathons. The Annual Giving and Young Donor Coordinator I will contribute to the development and implementation of creative initiatives to engage young alumni and other first-time donors. This could include social media campaigns, alumni events and engagement opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Four years of direct experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Position Qualifications: The candidate must possess strong organizational, strategic and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, and have experience in institutional advancement or equivalent service/public relations work with high-level donor/customer constituencies. Proven record of event planning and implementation and management experience that includes mentoring student workers and volunteers. Evening and weekend work is occasionally required. Must have initiative, energy, and the ability to work both independently and as a team player and have interest, management capacity and personal style to make team efforts succeed. Must have experience working with multiple constituencies including advancement professionals, donors and colleagues and a capacity to develop relationships with diverse communities.

Must have fundraising experience as it relates to large constituency population and includes working with multiple constituencies including advancement professionals, donors and colleagues and a capacity to develop relationships with diverse communities.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:
  • 30% - Annual Giving Outreach: Through phone calls and video message solicitation methods, this individual will fundraise for the university through innovative and direct campaigns and communications. This individual will create new campaign concepts and work to amplify the efforts of existing Annual Giving projects. - (Essential)
  • 30% - Texting Solicitations: Craft engaging text messages to reach young alumni and donors by promoting giving opportunities and streamlining the donation process. This includes developing clear calls to action and tracking campaign performance to optimize future efforts. These campaigns will be built to bolster existing Annual Giving campaigns. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Young Alumni & Student Philanthropy: Develop initiatives that foster a sense of community and connection among recent graduates. This could involve planning and coordinating social events, showcasing the impact of young alumni giving, and establishing peer-to-peer fundraising programs. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Annual Giving Projects: Assist with athletic phonathons, Annual Giving campaigns and other Advancement projects, as needed, to support the efforts of the division and the department. - (Essential)
