Position Title (Classification Title):  Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice
Working Title:  Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice in Athletic Training
Job Summary: The successful candidate will teach graduate coursework and/or other courses assigned by the department chair. The candidate will engage in clinical scholarly activity, university and community service, and work with other university departments to recruit students in the graduate Athletic Training program. Consistent with CAATE standards, the responsibilities of the Coordinator of Clinical Education include oversight of the clinical education portion of the program. Additionally, the candidate will facilitate relationships with colleagues within the university and stakeholders at the local, state, national, and international levels as well as a commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications: Expected to hold a doctorate or terminal master’s degree in the discipline. Must have a certification and/or licensure as speciated by the department of the appointment. Must have experience in clinical or professional practice and show promise of excellence in teaching, clinical supervision and/or direction (as appropriate to the discipline), and professional productivity and service, including but not limited to clinical service.
Position Qualifications: This position requires a minim of a Ph.D or Ed.D in Athletic Training, Human Performance, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or closely related discipline from an accredited institution. Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing and eligibility for FL State Licensure, and NPI number is required along with a minimum of 5 years contemporary experience and clinical athletic training practice and collegiate teaching experiences in the areas of athletic training; kinesiology, and/or related fields at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Additional requirements include: familiarity with CAATE standards and processes; supervision and evaluation of athletic training students; ability to work in a collaborative faculty environment; involvement with professional organizations; and excellent communication and writing skills. Experience teaching courses face-to-face and online, mentoring students, and overseeing clinical education experiences.
