Minimum Qualifications: |
A bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma and eight years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/ technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. |
Position Qualifications: |
Specific knowledge of electrical principles, practices, procedures and codes. General knowledge of construction principles, practices, procedures, and codes. General knowledge of state and Federal construction laws, codes, and requirements. Math and accounting principles. All forms of communication. |

Essential Functions / Job Duties: |
- 30% - Perform comprehensive construction project management activities. Monitor progress of jobs on a daily basis by making routine visits to job sites visually inspecting all work, documenting same for job file, and insuring compliance with design documents. - (Essential)
- 15% - Maintain and keep current all project files to ensure compliance with all auditing requirements. - (Essential)
- 10% - Provide complete contract documentation in electronic form to the office of Procurement and Contracts for all assigned projects requiring public advertisement and bidding. - (Essential)
- 5% - Establish budget-tracking system for each project, continually monitoring and documenting all project costs. - (Essential)
- 5% - Perform electrical design review, collect and analyze data, and conduct specialized studies in assigned areas as appropriate. - (Essential)
- 5% - Provide exceptional customer service by establishing with the customer and the office of Procurement and Contracts, realistic, effective project schedules and ensuring timely completion of projects within the established schedules. - (Essential)
- 5% - Review all project drawings a specifications during design phases to ensure completeness, compliance with the University’s “Design and Construction Standards”, and all applicable codes. Generate written list of comments and submit to applicable project manager. - (Essential)
- 5% - Review and approve/ disapprove as appropriate all project pay requests. - (Essential)
- 5% - Review, recommend, approve, and initiate project change orders as appropriate. - (Essential)
- 5% - Understand and consistently apply internal departmental procedures, State policies and procedures, and Florida State Statutes. - (Essential)
- 5% - Ensure proficient use of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Projects through appropriate study and training. - (Essential)
- 5% - Prepare reports as required to keep management, staff, and customers informed of all project status. - (Essential)
