Job Summary: | The UWF Center for Cybersecurity seeks an experienced cybersecurity academic and scholar with demonstrated contributions in cybersecurity education and research for an open rank faculty opportunity. Candidates with demonstrated experience developing and teaching various cybersecurity courses, training and/or workforce development programs are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will have a strong track record of securing grants or contracts to support education, training, workforce development, and research. Teaching and research interests include but are not limited to artificial intelligence and/or machine learning for cybersecurity, critical infrastructure security, industrial control systems security, cloud security, and industry certification courses. Candidates with other teaching and/or research experience are welcome to apply. A successful candidate may be hired as (1) a non-tenure-track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, (2) an assistant professor in a tenure-track position in the appropriate academic department, or (3) an associate or full professor with tenure in the appropriate academic department, all based on education, experience, and preference. Rank and tenure within the University will be determined by educational background, experience, and record. |

Minimum Qualifications: | Assistant Professor - Holds the highest degree appropriate to the field from an accredited institution or possesses equivalent qualifications based on professional experience, and be otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. The appointee engages in teaching, scholarship and creative projects, and/or service and other related activities. Associate Professor - Holds the highest degree appropriate to the field from an accredited institution or possesses professional qualifications in the field above those that would be equivalent to the highest degree. Normally, an associate professor will have produced creative work, professional writing, or research; and have had successful teaching or professional experience in the field of specialization. The appointee engages in teaching, scholarship and creative projects, and/or service and other related activities. Full Professor - Holds the highest degree appropriate to the field from an accredited institution or possesses professional qualifications in the field, which would be equivalent to the highest degree. Normally, a professor will have produced significant creative work, professional writing, or research, have had successful teaching or professional experience; and be a recognized authority or an outstanding teacher in the field of specialization. The appointee engages in teaching, scholarship and creative projects, and/or service and other related activities. |
Position Qualifications: | Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or closely related discipline from an accredited institution with a strong commitment to cybersecurity-related teaching, research, and service. |
Preferred Qualifications | • Demonstrated experience and accomplishments in cybersecurity teaching, grants, and/or research appropriate for the academic rank of assistant, associate or full professor. • Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity teaching, training, and/or curriculum development, as evident through development and instruction of cybersecurity courses and training programs in face-to-face, online, or hybrid learning environments, and teaching recognitions. • Demonstrated ability to secure external funding, including grants and contracts, to support education, training, workforce development, and research programs. Prior experience in the role of PI or Co-PI on funded grants and contracts. • Administrative or management experience, including managing training and/or workforce development programs. Familiarity with cyber ranges and their use to enhance education and training. Cybersecurity industry certifications, such as Security+ or CISSP. |
