Job Summary: | Join the Office of University Admissions team at a “Great College to Work For” on the beautiful UWF campus just minutes from the beach. The Student Services Specialist will have the opportunity to choose between a variety of retirement plans and select from affordable healthcare insurance plans. The Admissions Representative supports the University of West Florida’s undergraduate recruitment efforts by aiding in outreach and communication with prospective students and their families across key communication channels. This position oversees and manages departmental email accounts, text messaging platforms, and monitoring and responding to student communication through the recruitment social media app, ZeeMee. The representative will assist with the preparation and distribution of the counselor newsletter and support various outreach initiatives in collaboration with the admissions and enrollment marketing teams. While this role does not manage a specific recruitment territory and has limited travel expectations, occasional participation in college fairs, high school visits may be required. Participation with on campus events and campus tours will be expected, as necessary. Additional support of admissions operations, application review/processing, data audits, etc., may be routine. The representative will possess the same foundational knowledge of admissions, scholarships, financial aid, and university offerings as other recruitment team members and contribute to the broader goals of student engagement and enrollment growth at UWF. |

Minimum Qualifications: | A bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma and seven years of appropriate experience. |
Position Qualifications: | The Admissions Representative must possess strong communication and customer service skills to effectively engage with prospective students, families, and other stakeholders. This role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic environment. Candidates should be comfortable working with technology, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and have the ability to learn and navigate various systems and platforms. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret and apply institutional policies, guidelines, and admission requirements. Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to evolving priorities are key to success in this position. |
Preferred Qualifications | Ideal candidates will have prior experience in college or university admissions, student ambassador or tour guide roles, or as a resident assistant in a university setting. The ability to effectively communicate with both small and large groups, including individuals from all backgrounds, is highly valued. Strong public speaking skills and a demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service are essential. Additionally, experience working with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, such as Slate, is preferred. |
