Role Overview: This role is a unique opportunity for First Nations individuals to develop their skills while contributing to meaningful projects within our community. As a Graduate – First Nations, you’ll engage in a variety of tasks that will enhance your expertise in your chosen field and assist you in carving your career path.

Key Responsibilities:

Specialist Work:

  • Collaborate with team leaders to deliver activities aligned with your expertise.
  • Follow standard processes, ask questions, and seek guidance when needed.
  • Proactively assist customers and peers, providing insights and solutions.
  • Balance stakeholder needs to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Support the team in developing skills in accountability, communication, and organization.

People Work:

  • Uphold the City’s values and respect diverse backgrounds in all interactions.
  • Engage as a productive team member and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Provide regular updates on your work and embrace feedback for improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and the community.
  • Set and pursue personal development goals aligned with your field of study.

Organising/Planning Work:

  • Complete tasks promptly, ensuring quality and alignment with departmental plans.
  • Communicate proactively to resolve queries and collaborate with your team.
  • Manage your time effectively, prioritizing activities to meet customer needs.

Required:

  • A qualification in a relevant discipline aligned with the City’s areas of focus.
  • Demonstrated skills in your area of study.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • A desire to learn and improve stakeholder management skills.
