The Department of Liberal Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2024 to teach an introduction to linguistics course. The course introduces the richness and diversity of language, how languages work, and how the study of language provides insights into the human mind. Covers foundational concepts in core areas of linguistics (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, historical linguistics, neurolinguistics, language acquisition, and bilingualism), and analyzes how languages are similar and different from each other.
