Position Description

Job Overview

This position provides process management, expertise, and administration of personnel processes and process improvement initiatives in the division of Academic Affairs. This includes oversight and the implementation of faculty assigned time tracking and compliance, supporting Faculty Affairs with faculty workload tracking of additional employment, summer stateside schedule, annual faculty search request process, division position management, as well as other protocols and objectives established by the Provost and Vice Provost. This position also works on faculty workload tracking processes and analysis, develops and maintains websites, and provides back-up to staff in the Offices of the Provost and Vice Provost, if needed. The analyst is responsible for interpretation and application of complex data and information to ensure that all processes follow the current California State University system, University and Division practice and policy. This position also provides support as needed to the Director on all budget related processes, analysis, and training of lead analysts in the division.

The AA Division is the largest in the University and has a general operating fund budget exceeding $100M and growing. The division is comprised of eight major subdivisions, including: College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral & Social Sciences, College of Business Administration, College of Education, Health & Human Services, College of Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics, Extended Leaning, the University Library, and the Academic Affairs Administrative Group (which includes the offices of Academic Programs and Advising, Undergraduate Studies & First Year Programs, Faculty Affairs, Academic Senate, Planning & Academic Resources, Graduate Studies & Research, Faculty Center, Innovation Hub, and the Provost's Office). The SPP Analyst's responsibilities require interaction with and providing advice and recommendations on assigned programs and processes to the Provost's leadership team formed from the sub-units listed above.  In addition, the Analyst will provide oversight and training to analysts within those sub-units if needed. The SPP Analyst must work collaboratively and collegially within and across divisions in order to meet the goals of Academic Affairs and the University.

Position Summary

Senior Personnel and Lean Process Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist Exempt III)

This is a full-time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.

Pay, Benefits, and Work Schedule

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $8,334 - $8,750 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,970 - $13,544 per month

Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.

This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.

This position is required to work in person on campus.
